Yachting, floating houses and culinary: 20 Years Marina Kroeslin in the Baltic Sea Resort

Floating Houses – Baltic Sea Resort

From a small harbour to a lavish resort

Marina Kroeslin celebrates its 20th anniversary. Since its foundation one of the largest yacht harbours in Germany harks back to a tremendous development.
Once a landing pier for naval vessels in the GDR, it became Marina Kroeslin in 1994. Four years later in 1998 the yachting harbor was put into service.
Marina Kroeslin is growing up
„Demands have risen and we have responded to it by a consistent further development of our offers for both boat owners and for tourists.“ Explains Falk Morgenstern, General Manager of the Baltic Sea Resort including Marina Kroeslin.
Floating houses as holiday accomodations
Being the first yacht harbour in Germany Marina Kroeslin inaugurated eight floating houses in 2001. Additional four luxury floating houses and two house boats accomplished the fleet in April 2012. Thus, living on the water surrounded by a natural landscape is possible for tourists without a boat or yacht for 365 days a year. Guests savour the feeling of spending their holidays in a proper house and still on the water, though.
The road to a Baltic Sea Resort
Quite a new chapter in the history ofthe company was opened in August 2011: Marina Kroeslin started the construction of a new wellness and recreation area.
On an area of about one acre Marina Kroeslin is presenting attractive offers for guests and locals, as there is a food market, a hair dresser, a post office, the shop „Yachties“ for stylish and maritime clothing, the tapasbar „Kantappa“. You will also find a sauna, aphysiotherapy and new holiday apartments. Recently the „GOODShaus“ opened, a shop offering high quality design pieces and international design for gifts and memorabilia. The restaurant STEGhouse opened only in June and is the only local restaurant with high quality steaks. The new wellness area is opening in autumn 2014.

Thus Marina Kroeslin as part of the umbrella brand Baltic Sea Resort is an attractive destination for both water tourists as well as for tourists who wish to enjoy the view from the land to the Baltic sea and the island Usedom.
„Personally, founding the umbrella brand Baltic Sea Resort is a milestone. The name is a consequence, since it highlights what we have achieved in the last 20 years since Marina Kroeslin“s inauguration with its steadily growing infrastructure. The name „Baltic Sea Resort“describes our offers best. At the same time this name predetermines the Marina“s course.“ says Falk Morgenstern.
Quality grants safety
Quality and the protection ofthe environment have been key elements for the marina from the beginning. Since 2005 the yacht harbour is certificated with the world wide acknowledgedquality management certificate DIN ISO 9001 – a label for the highest product and service quality. Marina Kroeslin is also part of the water tourism guiding system „GelbeWelle“ in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It signalizes boatowners „Welcome“.
Marina Kroeslin is filled with pride of its 5-star-certificationsince 2005. It is one of only four marinas in Germany, which have been granted that certificate. The awarding is preceded by an examination ofthe marina according to criteria in ten categories by independent judges of the International Marine Certification Institute (IMCI).
The anniversary is being celebrated at June 21, 2014 as part of the harbour festival „Marina für Jedermann“ and the 6. Kroeslin regatta“Double-Hand-Race“ in the Marina Kroeslin. The spirit and flair of a regatta and of the resort can be enjoyed on one occasion.
